The Seva Life Project is looking for volunteers to help out in the children's home, teach English at the small school next door, and help with farming projects in the colony. The children at the home all come from the colony so all volunteer positions will overlap with each other. The Duration for volunteers is a minimum of 10 days. There is no maximum time for a volunteer stay, you may stay for as long as you wish. The cost for volunteering includes airfare to and from India, train ticket to and from Nellore from Chennai, and any money for extra spending, like shopping, supplemental foods, other travel, etc.Room and board are provided, although volunteers should be aware that it is completely Indian style. Expect to sleep on mats on the floor and eat the Indian food that is prepared also for the children. You can buy other food at several grocery stores in the area. Nellore is a bustling city, and the home, school and colony are located on the outskirts of the city. Nellore is a very authentic Indian place.
